Ecommerce Website Design Malaysia

An online store you own outright, built on WooCommerce with Malaysian payment and shipping from day one. I design and build the store, connect the payment gateway, set up the products with you and train you to run it.

From shop counter to online store

Most ecommerce projects I take on are existing businesses moving part of their sales online: a retailer with a loyal walk-in crowd, a brand selling through agents and marketplaces, a food or beverage company tired of marketplace fees. The store has to fit how they already sell, not the other way round.

WooCommerce runs on WordPress, which means the shop, the blog and the business pages live in one website that you own. There is no monthly platform fee and no percentage of every sale going to a platform, and any WordPress developer in Malaysia can maintain it after me.

Built for how Malaysians buy

  • Payment through FPX online banking, cards and e-wallets, using a Malaysian gateway such as Billplz, toyyibPay, senangPay or iPay88
  • Shipping zones and rates for Peninsular and East Malaysia, pickup options and courier integration where needed
  • A WhatsApp enquiry button on every product, because many customers still want to ask before they pay
  • Product catalogue with variations, stock levels, promotions and order e-mails in English or Bahasa Malaysia
  • Fast product pages on mobile data, structured data for Google Shopping listings, and SST handling where it applies
  • Store management training, so you add products and process orders yourself

What an ecommerce website costs in Malaysia

The WooCommerce Store package starts at RM7,500 and includes everything in the Business Website package plus the catalogue, payment, shipping and order flows. What moves the ecommerce website price is the number of products and variations, the gateway and courier integrations, and anything custom such as a loyalty scheme or a B2B price list. You see the final figure in a written quotation before work starts, and the store takes five to eight weeks from the day the product content is ready.

After the store goes live

90 days of free support, then the Website Care Plan. For a store the Care Plan matters more than for a brochure site: WooCommerce, the payment plugin and the theme release updates every month, and an untested update on a live shop is how orders get lost. The SEO Retainer adds product and category optimisation when you want more buyers from Google.

Questions

Questions people ask first

How much does an ecommerce website cost in Malaysia?

A WooCommerce store from me starts at RM7,500 with payment, shipping and training included. Agencies in Malaysia commonly quote RM15,000 to RM40,000 for a comparable store; the difference is overhead, not features. Large catalogues and custom integrations raise the price, and you see it in writing first.

WooCommerce or Shopify?

Shopify is quick to start and charges a monthly fee plus transaction costs; WooCommerce costs more upfront and nothing per month beyond hosting, and you own everything. For a Malaysian business that already has or wants a WordPress website, WooCommerce usually wins over three years.

Which payment gateways do you set up?

Any Malaysian gateway that supports WooCommerce: Billplz, toyyibPay, senangPay, iPay88, Stripe for cards, and e-wallets through those gateways. You open the merchant account in your company's name and I connect it.

How long does an online store take?

Five to eight weeks from the day the product photos, descriptions and prices are ready. Getting the product content ready is usually the longest part, and I give you a template for it.

Can I manage the products and orders myself?

Yes. Training is part of the package, and the WooCommerce admin is built for store owners rather than developers. Most clients run the store themselves and keep me on the Care Plan for updates and backups.
